How the Scoring Works
Every hand is scored as four cards plus the starter, counting all five together. Fifteens are worth 2 points for each distinct combination that totals 15 — a hand of 5-5-5-J with a ten-card starter makes eight of them. Pairs are 2 points each, so three of a kind is three pairs (6) and four of a kind is six pairs (12). Runs score 1 point per card and multiply when ranks repeat: a double run of three is worth 8.
